About two years into owning this truck, (purchased brand new from dealer), the dashboard cracked at the corner of the passenger side airbag. There was no incident which caused the dashboard to crack. Nothing hit it, no accident, etc. This is a potential hazard and it seems to be a recurring problem for many chevrolet owners. The interior dash panel on my silverado 1500, 4x4, crew cab has cracked behind the instrument cluster causing a loud rattle when going over bumps. The dash panel has also started to crack at the passenger side air bag location and i feel this could be a very dangerous situation if the airbag were to deploy, causing plastic dash parts to dislodge and hit occupants.
