On april 30 of 2008, i placed the key in the ignition and attempted to start my 2004 chevrolet silverado 1500. Both airbags suddenly deployed hitting me in the face. There were no indications of an air bag fault prior to detonation. I called the dealer and they informed me that there were no warranties on the air bags, outside of the normal 36000 mile of 3 year warranty period. I contacted gm customer service and…

Gm has recalled 2004 silverado with leather seats because it causes air bag to deploy when not in an accident or not to deploy when in an accident. The only remedy is to buy back the vehicle at full cost per recall id# 7297, but gm has refused to buy back my vehicle even though they are the ones that submitted the recall.
